This is officially the longest bear market ever for bitcoin (BTC). And while some call out the death of the most popular cryptocurrency (again), others stay positive.

Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s co-founder and CEO is definitely one of the latter. During an interview with Joe Rogan, a popular American comedian and a host of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Dorsey expressed that he believes Bitcoin will become the internet’s native currency.

Bitcoinwas something that was born on the internet, that was developed on the internet, that was tested on the internet…It is of the internet.”

Apart from Twitter, Dorsey is also the CEO of Square, a mobile payments company. It lets users trade Bitcoin, but when asked about plans to add support for other coins in the future, Dorsey denied that this will happen.

Dorsey also expressed his views on the future of the internet.

“We’re moving to a world in which anything created exists forever, that there’s no centralized control over who sees what, that these models become completely decentralized and all these barriers that we, that exist today, aren’t as important anymore.”

In his opinion, “this is what blockchain helps enable, down the line, and we need to make sure that we’re paying attention to that.”.
