This isn’t the best year for cryptocurrency. There’s no doubt about that. For Bitcoin it is already one of the worst years since its beginning.
At this moment Bitcoin is around 65% down from its all time high (ATH). It is also 57% down over the past three months. And Bitcoin isn’t the worst performing coin – actually quite far from it.
Of course we are only few days into the second quarter, so things can (and hopefully will) take a turn for the better still. Its hard to compile a list of the best performing cryptocurrencies while majority of them are in the red. So this isn’t exactly a list of the BEST performing cryptos. This is a list of the least bad ones over the past three months.
The best (or least bad) performers
As you can see from the charts, a couple of the coins listed here were only introduced recently, so they may not quite deserve the spot. They didn’t make it through the ENTIRE first quarter and have been spared some turmoil other coins endured.
Now let’s take a look at the opposite end of the list.
The worst performers
The situation here is actually quite clear and all of the listed coins were introduced before the past three months.
It is apparent that escaping from Bitcoin and into altcoins isn’t necessarily a good move. It may as well turn out to be a very bad idea. Bitcoin is still one of the safest bets as far as waiting through the bad times goes.
And hopefully we’ll soon see it get back to its December glory.
What do you think about the price of BTC? Will it regain its December ATH? Let us know in the comments.
