A bill was drafted by the Russian Ministry of Finance, to legalise cryptocurrency trading on approved exchanges. Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev said:
“This is about the fact that buying and selling [of cryptocurrencies] will be somehow standardized. The general idea is that it will be necessary to buy and sell on official exchanges, as it will be declared, it will be legalized.”
The bill would allow more free trading and investing into the cryptocurrency market in Russia. The Ministry of Finance is still working on which exchanges would be chosen. The overall legalisation is now pretty much clear, leaving only the issue of exchanges open.
This is yet another country to legalise and regulate cryptocurrencies. Hopefully we’ll see many more, as blockchain technology becomes more and more mainstream.
