Many things came out of the crypto-winter. It was a sort of a reset for the industry. Everyone from investors to graphics card producers to legislators had to take a good look at what is happening.
For some, it was a disaster. But for the crypto-sphere in general – it might have been one of the best things that could have happened.
Reddit’s co-founder and a crypto-enthusiast Alexis Ohanian, firmly believes in the latter. During his interview with Yahoo Finance on February 22, Ohanian claimed that the crypto hype is now gone, leaving only the true crypto believers on the market.
Ohanian cited Brian Armstrong, Coinbase CEO, who believes that the long bear market got rid of the speculators, leaving only “true believers”.
“Now, it’s still to be seen. But what’s a strong signal to me is still some of the smartest people I know in tech are working on solving these problems. They’re building companies that are built on blockchain. The hype is gone. The fervour is gone. But I think that’s a good thing.” – Ohanian said.
It is really difficult to predict where, and when, will things move to next. Last July, Ohanian predicted Bitcoin to reach $20,000 and Ethereum to reach $1500 per coin still in 2018. This prediction did not come true.
But could it come true this year?
